Reduce Global Catastrophic Risks this Giving Season

This Giving Season, we invite you to consider giving to our Global Catastrophic Risks (GCR) Fund, which addresses the root causes of the world's most severe threats.
In a rapidly changing world, we face many potentially devastating risks, from advanced AI to severe pandemics to nuclear escalation. The GCR Fund builds the infrastructure needed to combat these risks through targeted national policy and international cooperation. You can be a part of this work to stop the next global catastrophe in its tracks.
Our work in this area focuses on:
- Building a diverse field of climate and clean energy organizations across the political spectrum that can defend and strengthen critical policy infrastructure
- Making bets on critical yet underappreciated decarbonization pathways, such as coal plant repowering in China
- Diversifying globally to reduce systemic risk, with strategic positioning across key regions for decarbonization like the US, EU, and China.
Your Impact in Action
Our GCR Fund ensures that every contribution generates extraordinary impact and creates lasting change. Here’s some of our grants in action:
Pacific Forum: Progressing nuclear diplomacy between US and China

At a time when China was growing its nuclear arsenal, the only U.S.- China bilateral dialogue on strategic nuclear issues faced collapse due to funding gaps. Founders Pledge stepped in with a $200K grant to Pacific Forum to resume critical Track 2 diplomatic conversations, which have kept communication channels open to help both nations navigate dangerous nuclear scenarios.
Global Shield: Urgent funding for international advocacy

When a critical advocacy organization faced an urgent funding gap, six Founders Pledge members and the GCR Fund came together with a $550K grant to launch Global Shield—the world's first international advocacy organization for global catastrophic risks. Global Shield has already driven Congressional action, leading to RAND's assessment of existential risks for the Department of Homeland Security and securing a mandated review of national continuity of operations plans to reflect modern threats.
