All my employed life I experienced controlling, top-down leadership. I vowed, given the opportunity, I would never lead that way. Then I woke up a few years later, as a solopreneur and realised that’s exactly who I had become. I too was reacting to the threat of uncertainty. Unable to switch off, unable to let go.
