Miguel is a proud dad, entrepreneur, and angel investor, and has over 12 years of experience in building technology-based startups with a global reach. His expertise encompasses tasks and challenges, from the vision and strategy definition to product management, with special dedication to startup funding and investor relations.

As COO at CartoDB, he is currently leading the sales, financial, and operational efforts from its Madrid and NY offices, directing the company's growth and scaling-up. He co-founded IMASTE, the leading virtual environments and webcasts platform in Europe, until its acquisition in June 2012 by ON24, Inc., a Silicon Valley-based multinational. He also co-founded MULTIVENT, an innovative events agency with focus on university career fairs in Spain.

He loves to teach and share experiences as a startup mentor, advisor, and entrepreneurship professor at the IE Business School, Telefonica's Wayra Academy, and Seedrocket. Trying to enhance the Spanish entrepreneurial ecosystem, he co-founded and presides over Chamberi Valley, the main Madrid-based networking initiative for startups with over 1 million € revenue or 1 million € in investment.
