Value creation should only be an interim step on an entrepreneur’s journey. Value distribution and impact creation have to be subsequent goals – and the more founders who publicly share that view the better.
Caspar co-founded Hailo, one of the very first taxi-apps, in 2010 and spent 6 years growing that from pure start-up to being a leading international player in the e-hail space, culminating in a merger with Daimler-owned MyTaxi in 2016. Prior to that he was CEO of eCourier, using technology to dramatically improve the customer experience in the notoriously un-user friendly same-day delivery space, building on 20-odd years working at the intersection of technology, operations, and commercial at companies around the world.
Since 2016 Caspar has been combining non-executive roles in both the public and private sector with an increasing interest in the specifically European perspective on how the digital economy can and should develop for the benefit of all. He is shortly launching Sifted, a new standalone technology website focused on the European start-up world. This will deliver the best and most read news, analysis and insight specifically for and about Europe’s ‘new economy’, combining original content, value-added curation of the “best of the rest”, and an invaluable practical knowledge resource – and backed by one of the world’s leading news media companies.
