Stan is an applied researcher specialising in Climate. Before joining Founders Pledge in 2024 he worked as a researcher at CEARCH, scouting for highly cost-effective global health interventions. Prior to that, Stan spent several years as a teacher and hosted a podcast about education. He holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of Oxford. Stan enjoys sport and everything outdoorsy. An avid chef, he loves to improvise in the kitchen, often with unpredictable results.

Q: If you could choose anyone famous (real or fictional) to have dinner with who would they be and why?

Emma Goldman, who was a rabble-raising American anarchist of the early 20th century. She comes across as such an interesting person in her autobiography - stubborn, joyful, beholden to nobody.

Q: As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A gamekeeper, because I knew it involved animals and long walks in the rain.

Q: If a movie was made of your life what genre would it be, who would play you?

A musical dark comedy starring Matt Smith.
