Bio

Ricki joined Founders Pledge in 2022 to help us manage our risk and compliance frameworks. A Chartered Accountant, Ricki began his career at PwC working in their Risk Assurance team and, in his last role, was Head of Internal Audit at Historic Environment Scotland, a public body and charity caring for Scotland's heritage. He's also a trustee of Evaluation Support Scotland, a charity helping other charities to better measure their success and report on the difference they're making.

Outside of work Ricki likes to cook, read, and play board games.

Q&A with Ricki

Q: If you could choose anyone famous (real or fictional) to have dinner with who would they be and why?

Good question! My answer will probably change every week depending on what I'm reading, but let's go for George Saunders. I love his short stories and his recent book, 'A Swim in a Pond in the Rain', gave me a whole new appreciation of the great Russian short story writers and their craft.

Q: As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I think it was probably a scientist or an inventor.

Q: If a movie was made of your life what genre would it be, who would play you?

Some kind of art house film where nothing seems to happen; a meditation on the absurdity and quiet joy of life. I'd be played by Nicolas Cage and it'd be directed by David Lynch.
