Hi, I'm Katie and I'm a Grants and Monitoring Officer for Founders Pledge. After graduating from college, I worked for a small nonprofit providing respites to young adult cancer patients and then moved on to work for donor advised funds, helping to grant out over $4 billion dollars in grants. (My largest single grant was for $400 million dollars. WOW!)

As a Philadelphia suburbs gal, I love Philly sports. On the weekend you can find me hiking or going for a run, but more likely trying to find the best ice cream in town.

Q&A with Alex

Q: If you could choose anyone famous (real or fictional) to have dinner with who would they be and why?

I would probably have to go with Charlie Manuel, the old Phillies manager. He is a hilarious storyteller and has some of the best behind-the-scenes knowledge.

Q: As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A teacher! No question. I went to school for education and did teach a bit (I taught grade 5 and kindergarten). Working with children is certainly a challenge, but so fulfilling.

Q: If a movie was made of your life what genre would it be, who would play you?

I think my life would be a comedy type documentary where all the characters I meet along the way (my family, friends, co-workers) are all interviewed The Office style. Everyone would have to play themselves, obviously.
