Courtney has spent her career working with innovative policy and advocacy NGOs and is particularly sought after as an organizational leader with both the vision and acumen needed to bring impactful ideas to life.
She is currently the Chief of Staff at Global Shield, an advocacy organization working to reduce global catastrophic risk. In this role, she has helped shepherd the organization from its start-up phase, since delivering two international offices, proof-of-impact with key policy wins, and emerging global leadership on global catastrophic risk.
Prior to Global Shield, Courtney founded and led the Office of Foresight and Prediction at Open Nuclear Network. There, she developed tools to measure the risk of nuclear catastrophe through forecasting and used these outputs to inform and encourage new nuclear risk reduction work. Courtney’s earlier experience spans organizations focused on education, housing, and other pressing domestic issues. She holds a B.S. from Abilene Christian University and a Master’s from Harvard University.
