Because my mother didn't raise a fool.
Mohammad Modarres, MSc, is the founder of Interfaith Ventures, a non-profit incubator that collaborates with social profit organizations to incubate new products and programs that promote interfaith dialogue and unity. Its first event - known as "Shabbat Salaam!" interfaith dinner - debuted the first interfaith meat (meat that is both Halal and Glatt Kosher). Today, it offers these meats through Abe's Meats, a social profit initiative that is working on creating more religiously tolerant foods.
Outside of Interfaith Ventures and Abe's Meats, Mohammad works on the strategy and development of multiple ventures in the areas of biotechnology and environmental conservation, to food and sport. This includes the establishment of Aelan Cell Technologies and Mount Tam Biotechnologies, a biotech company collaborating with the world famous Buck Institute.
Mohammad is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and the recipient of the Michael Bloomberg Scholarship, the Woodrow Wilson Research Fellowship, and the George J. Mitchell National Scholarship, which led him to Trinity College Dublin for graduate studies.
